This Privacy Policy explains how PS8 Network (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use Auction Now, a Shopify app that runs timed auctions on merchant storefronts.
Who this applies to
- Merchants who install and configure the app in Shopify Admin.
- Shoppers / bidders who place bids, complete verification, open disputes, or leave feedback on a merchant’s storefront through the app.
Information we collect
From Shopify (merchants)
When you install the app, Shopify provides shop identifiers, access tokens scoped to the permissions you approve, and product/order-related data needed to run auctions and create draft orders for winners. We also store your in-app settings (auction defaults, KYC thresholds, plan selection, and similar configuration).
From bidding and storefront use
Depending on features the merchant enables, we may process:
- Bid amounts, timestamps, and auction identifiers
- Shopify customer IDs and display names used for bidding
- Optional identity-verification (KYC) submissions and review status when a merchant requires verification above a bid threshold
- Dispute messages and related auction context
- Feedback ratings or comments merchants collect through the app
Technical data
We may log IP addresses, user agents, and request metadata for security, rate limiting, debugging, and reliability. Health and operational metrics may be retained in aggregated form.
How we use information
- Operate auctions, bidding, winner checkout via Shopify draft orders
- Enforce merchant rules (restrictions, verification, anti-abuse)
- Provide merchant admin tools, analytics summaries, and support
- Respond to Shopify GDPR / privacy webhooks and legal requests
- Improve reliability and prevent fraud or abuse
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share data only as needed to provide the service:
- Shopify — checkout, products, customers, and webhooks as part of the platform integration
- Infrastructure providers — hosting, databases, and job queues that process data under our instruction
- Merchants — shop-scoped auction, bidder, KYC, and dispute data visible in their admin for that store only
- When required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service
Shopify privacy webhooks
We implement Shopify’s mandatory compliance webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact). On a data request we compile relevant shop-scoped records and notify the merchant’s configured contact. On redact events we delete or anonymize customer-linked app data for that shop as required. When a shop uninstalls and Shopify sends shop/redact, we remove shop-associated app data according to Shopify’s timeline.
Retention
We retain auction, bid, and configuration data while the app is installed and as needed for disputes, fraud prevention, billing history, and legal obligations. After uninstall / shop redact, we delete or anonymize data in line with Shopify’s requirements and our operational backups windows.
Security
Access to merchant data is authenticated through Shopify’s session model. Storefront proxy requests are scoped to the shop. Sensitive uploads (such as KYC documents) are restricted by type and size. We apply shop scoping so one merchant cannot access another merchant’s records.
Your choices
- Merchants can uninstall the app at any time from Shopify Admin.
- Merchants control whether KYC, disputes, and related features are enabled for their store.
- Customers should contact the merchant (and, where applicable, us) to exercise access or deletion rights for data processed by the app on that store.
Children
The app is intended for merchants and adult shoppers on Shopify storefronts. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised policy.
