Auction Now is a Shopify app that lets merchants run timed auctions on store products. Shoppers bid on the storefront; winners are sent to Shopify Checkout at the winning price via draft order.

Answers for merchants evaluating or running Auction Now.
How do winners pay?
When an auction ends with a winner, the app creates a Shopify draft order (or invoice flow) at the winning amount. Payment stays on Shopify’s checkout — we do not process card payments ourselves.
Where does the auction UI appear?
On the storefront through the theme app extension (product and listing experiences). Merchants manage auctions, settings, verification, and disputes inside Shopify Admin.
Do bidders need a Shopify customer account?
Bidding is tied to the logged-in storefront customer so bids can be attributed and winners can be checked out. Exact login requirements follow your theme and Shopify customer accounts setup.
What is KYC / verification?
Merchants can optionally require identity verification when a bid reaches a threshold. Pending submissions appear under Verification in the app admin for approve/reject review.
Can I restrict customers from bidding?
Yes. Merchants can manage customer restrictions in the Customers area of the app so blocked shoppers cannot place bids.
How do disputes work?
Merchants can enable dispute flows so shoppers open a case about an auction. Threads are visible in admin and on the storefront proxy so both sides can follow up.
Is this still beta?
Yes — the public build is labeled BETA V1.00. Features and limits may change; see the changelog for what shipped.
How does pricing / plans work?
You can start on a free tier and upgrade in-app when you need more live auctions or advanced rules. Billing is handled through Shopify’s app billing / managed pricing when enabled for your install.
